My name is Martha Garmon (Garrett) and I’m the founder of Hats On Travel. Travel has been part of my life for as long as I can remember, and today I’m fortunate to turn that lifelong passion into helping others create unforgettable adventures through Hats on Travel.
My first passport came early. As a child, my family traveled frequently to Mexico, and by my teenage years I was sailing through the Greek Islands in the Aegean Sea. Not long after, we explored Belize by sailboat and visited Aruba and Antigua. Those early experiences taught me that the world is full of incredible places, fascinating people, and unforgettable stories.
Over the years, travel has marked every chapter of my life.
My late husband and I worked hard so we could explore whenever we had the chance. Together we cruised the Caribbean and Mexico, explored the Bourbon Trail, visited Yellowstone, the Grand Canyon, Alaska, and discovered our shared love of Italy.
When he became ill, our adventures changed. We traded international flights for road trips, and those simpler journeys became some of the memories I treasure most. They reminded me that travel isn’t about how far you go—it’s about the moments you share along the way.
After COVID, I couldn’t wait to get back out into the world. I traveled with friends to Costa Rica, Germany’s magical Christmas Markets, New Zealand, and Fiji. Then life surprised me again when I met and married Robert, who happily joined me in making travel a way of life.
Today we’re always planning our next adventure. Together we’ve celebrated the Paris Olympics, taken cooking classes in Italy, explored tequila country in Mexico, cruised through Greece and Turkey, Spain and Portugal, crossed the Atlantic by ship, and continue searching for experiences that go beyond the typical tourist itinerary.
That’s exactly how I plan travel for my clients.
I believe the best trips immerse you in a destination. Whether it’s sharing a meal with locals, taking a cooking class, tasting regional wines and spirits, exploring a hidden village, or finding a shore excursion that most visitors never discover, I want every trip to tell a story you’ll be excited to share for years to come.
After planning a group journey to Italy, I realized that the research, organization, and attention to detail I loved could become something even bigger. I founded Hats on Travel to help others experience the world with confidence, knowing every detail has been thoughtfully planned.
Today I specialize in luxury cruises, immersive European vacations, river cruises, small-group journeys, and customized travel experiences. Through my preferred partnerships, including Virtuoso, I can often offer my clients exclusive amenities and VIP perks that make their vacations even more memorable.
Whether you’d like to join one of my hosted group trips or you’re ready to plan your own dream vacation, I’d be honored to help.
